I wrote a book!
I wrote this book because I spent my twenties and thirties looking for it. When I first experienced higher energy–that floating feeling that feels a little like love or peace or joy–I didn’t know what it was or how to return to it. It felt like bliss and it was fleeting. I went off to college and, here and there, when life got complicated I wished that I could return to that state and see the world and myself a little more clearly. I wanted to touch on that feeling again. I thought that higher energy could only be accessed by far away swamis and gifted intuitives with crystal balls. I didn’t know how to find those people and I wasn’t interested in a lifestyle that took me outside the mainstream. I went to college, got a job, created a life where I was too busy for enlightenment.
But, that floating feeling kept coming to me–after a major surgery, in a special yoga class, at a retreat center in the mountains. Eventually I learned that higher energy is no big deal. It is within us and around us all the time. It is waiting for us to turn toward it and remember that we are it. We are the energy that I yearned for and, better yet, there are many practices that can help us touch on it. Feeling peace, love and joy is always available to us every day. This book is the story of how I learned that.
